Fall Leaf Cleanup
Thanks to our community partner Ethos and Joining Hands Project Manager Jon Lerch, Branch Out collaborated with Joining Hands to rake leaves and clean yards of elderly citizens in the Boston area on Sat., Nov. 7. Ethos, a non-profit care management program for the elderly in southwest Boston, specializes in ensuring elders live in the least restrictive living conditions as possible, and provide at-home care and additional services such as sending volunteers to clean yards. Volunteers from Branch Out and Joining Hands spent the unseasonably warm day raking leaves, weeding, and trimming hedges. Some volunteers also got to talk with the homeowners, seeing the social impact of their work first-hand.
